The bell dance, originated in the Tang and Song dynasties in ancient China, is a type of folk art of Tujia ethnic group and one of the provincial-level intangible cultural heritages in Hubei. Actors hold stage property with eight copper bells during their performance.

“八宝铜铃舞”是流行于鄂西山区土家族地区的一种传统歌舞。这种源于唐宋时期、盛行于明清时期的歌舞,因舞者手持的道具上系有八个铜铃而得名。表演时,一群舞者手持铜铃中间木柄,上下晃动碰击肩、膝等部位使铜铃发出声响,通过肢体语言展现喂马、骑马、牵马等动作,是首批湖北省级“非遗”之一。如今,“八宝铜铃舞”作为土家族民间艺术,广泛活跃于当地舞台、广场等地。
